Description
SteelGate LLC is looking for an experienced Exercise Planner. This person will serve as an experienced Exercise Planner based in Camp Zama, Japan, supporting exercise planning and execution on the Theater Army Campaign Support (TACS) contract.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and measure the effectiveness of exercise plans and procedures for clients.
Create detailed and informative content using Microsoft Office to effectively present realistic scenarios.
Identify and analyze threats, gaps, and risks within client challenges, offering safe space for recommendations.
Collaborate with wargame analysts, operations researchers, and senior leadership on critical mission projects.
Lead efforts in Exercise Design and Event Planning and Facilitation, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
Plan and execute a Component or Joint Exercise Program, ensuring exercises are aligned with real-world needs.
Apply expertise in the Five Stages of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) and the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP).
Utilize knowledge of Joint and Multinational exercise design at the operational level to develop comprehensive plans.
Take exercises from the concept phase to execution, delivering senior-level concept of operations briefs.
Manage exercise logistics and coordination, ensuring seamless execution and effective team communication.
Travel up to 20% of the time for on-site planning and coordination efforts.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of a Command and General Staff College Intermediate Level Education or equivalent
5+ years of experience planning and executing a Component or Joint Exercise Program
Experience with the Five Stages of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC)
Experience with the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), Army Design Methodology (ADM), and Joint Planning Process (JPP)
Experience at an Operational or higher-level Headquarters staff, such as Corps, DRU, ASCC, or ACOM Knowledge of Joint and Multinational exercise design at the operational level
Ability to take an exercise from the concept phase, plan the exercise, and prepare and provide a senior-level concept of operation brief
Secret Clearance Required.
Desired Qualifications:
8+ years of experience at the brigade level or above
Experience supporting and managing an exercise budget with multiple funding streams
Knowledge of the aspects of Multi-Domain Operations
